Chef Steve Walpole has prepared a fabulous varied barbecue menu and will show you how to make the most of fish and meats with seasoning and marinades as well as an array of wonderful side dishes and barbecued desserts.


Our Summer Afternoon Barbecue will include:


  • BBQ pulled pork with homemade coleslaw
  • Spatchcock creole chicken
  • Handmade chorizo and thyme sausages
  • Whole sea bream stuffed with chilli and garlic
  • Homemade Focaccia
  • Baked chocolate bananas with homemade honeycomb ice cream



We are thrilled to announce that our Sizzling Summer Barbecue cookery experience returns this summer. The course will take place in The Cookery School and the barbecue will be held afterwards in the stunning grounds of The Braxted Park Estate.


On this one day cookery experience you will learn to prepare delicious marinades and side dishes ensuring your summer barbecues are gastronomic delights, not a mixture of burnt burgers and charcoal sausages.


This course begins at 9.30am and ends at 4.00pm. Please note that in the event of wet weather, we will move the barbecue to the cookery school courtyard and eat in the dining room.


We invite you to join us with a welcome tea or coffee in the cookery school’s dining room from 9.00am, where you will have a chance to meet your fellow delegates and chef. Your chef will talk you through the class menu and how the day will run before you are assigned a workspace in our fully equipped kitchen, overlooking the beautiful estate at Braxted Park.


The step-by-step tuition is fun and easy to follow and the cookery school team will be available to assist you.


At the end of the cookery lesson we invite you to join us in the beautiful grounds of the Estate.  William Grinsted will demonstrate the best barbecue cooking techniques and you will enjoy the delicious food that you have prepared, with a glass of wine or a cold beer!
